A Brookings man is facing multiple charges after a head on collision on Highway 14 about a 1/2 mile west of 459th Avenue around 7:40 p.m. Friday.
Fifty-six-year-old Ronald Allsot of Brookings was traveling east on Highway 14 when he entered the westbound lane and collided with a vehicle traveling west driven by 60 year-old Rosemary Mullins of Arlington. Mullins was taken to Sanford Hospital with possible life threatening injuries. Allsot was treated and released with minor injuries. Both cars are a total loss.
Brookings County Sheriff's Office says alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash. Allsot is facing charges of lane violation, reckless driving, open container in a motor vehicle, no seatbelt, 2nd DUI and vehicular battery. The accident is still under investigation by the Brookings County Sheriff's Office.
