More than 500 students at the University of South Dakota found themselves out in the cold after a broken water pipe flooded their dorm Monday night.
Officials shut off water and power at Coyote Village after the broken pipe flooded part of the building. USD Vice President Jeff Baylor says students were taken to the Student Center where officials arranged hotel rooms for as many as possible.
Baylor says they have not yet determined the cause of the break, but are working to get the dorm re-opened soon.
There were no classes at USD Monday because of the Martin Luther King Junior holiday. Classes resume Tuesday morning.
