Samaritan's Feet is a global humanitarian effort looking to put shoes on 10 million children's feet.
On Saturday, the effort converged at Frost Arena in Brookings. To raise awareness for the cause, SDSU Men's Basketball Coach Scott Nagy went without his shoes for the team's matchup against NDSU. Nagy got behind the effort after an earthquake devasted the country of Haiti, where he adopted his daughter.
Over the course of 10 years, Samaritan's Feet has put shoes on 4.5 million children and now they want to increase that number in South Dakota.
Samaritan's Feet Founder Manny Ohonme said, "We are trying to raise funds for $6,500 children to be able to put shoes for back to school this summer, $15.24 to be able to put a pair of shoes on a child."
