Police say a Sioux Falls man is behind bars after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
According to police, 52-year-old Guy Lundgren had been fighting with his girlfriend for several weeks inside his home at 1201 N. Phillips Avenue. On Saturday, a neighbor who found out, called police.
When police arrived, they found a 44-year-old woman with injuries to her face including a swollen and bruised eye. The woman reluctantly told police that beginning Jan. 4, on several occassions, Lundgren had pushed and punched her. She told police that she tried to leave the home but Lundgren pulled her back inside.
The woman was taken to the hospital. They discovered several more bruises on her arms and body as well as a fractured eye socket.
Lundgren was arrested for aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, and simple assault.
