Supporters of South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper Andrew Steen are gathering Saturday night for a benefit concert.
Steen was rushed to the hospital on October 17th after being run over by a suspected drunk driver in Sioux Falls. Steen suffered serious head injuries and broken ankle. He was on a ventilator and in a coma. Steen was able to leave the hospital 8 weeks later, and continues his recovery.
The benefit concert will be held this Saturday starting at 8 pm at the Grand Falls Casino near Larchwood, IA. The band, Something New is performing. Something New was inducted into the South Dakota Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. Founder John McCormick says they just wanted to add their support to Steen's recovery.
McCormick says the Grand Falls Casino is donating the venue and the public is encouraged to attend and show their support.
