Sloan's Triple-Double Leads Skyforce To Win

Sioux Falls, S.D. - The Sioux Falls Skyforce defeated the Reno Bighorns 117-114 in overtime Friday night. Donald Sloan recorded a triple-double with 22 points, 13 rebounds and 14 assists to help the Skyforce win for the fifth time in six games.
Sioux Falls (15-11) jumped out to a quick 12-3 lead but Reno battled back and led 33-24 after the first quarter. Reno (9-13) pushed the lead to as many as 16 points in the second quarter, but Sioux Falls cut the deficit to 10 points (61-51) on a Mychel Thompson 3-pointer in the final seconds of the first half.
Reno scored the first two points of the second half before Sioux Falls went on a 12-0 spurt to tie the score at 63-63 A 3-point play by Mike Davis gave Sioux Falls an 85-78 lead but Walker Russell scored four points in the final minute of the third quarter to make the score 85-82 heading into the final stanza.
Demetris Nichols made a 3-pointer with 3:22 to go to give Sioux Falls a 107-101 lead but Reno scored six straight points to tie the score at 107-107 with 2:39 remaining in regulation. Neither team scored again and the game went into overtime after Sloan missed an open 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Sioux Falls outscored Reno 10-7 in the extra session to pick up its fourth straight home win. Sloan scored six of Sioux Falls’ 10 points in overtime.
Nichols scored a season-high 34 points including 5-of-6 3-pointers. Thompson scored 21 points while Davis recorded his third straight double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Dar Tucker scored a team-high 28 points, and Samardo Samuels contributed 26 points and 16 rebounds. Marcus Landry (21 points, 11 rebounds) and Russell (10 points, 14 assists) each recorded double-doubles.
The two teams tangle at the Sioux Falls Arena Saturday night at 7 CT.
