The Half Time Hot Wing Challenge

Bookmark and Share

Six men braved the second annual Over Time Bar and Grill’s chicken wing-eating contest Sunday night. The challenge was to eat 30 hot wings in under ten minutes, or eat them as fast as they could.

During half time the men gathered and ate as fast as they could. But they couldn’t beat last year’s winner Eric Hite. Even with choking twice, Hite ate all 30 wings in 3:38. Hite said it’s all about strategy.

"I go for the skinny ones first...not the dummies. I call them wingdings and drummies.  I go for the wing-dings first and you can just grab those and pinch them at the end and get all the meat with one swipe,” explained Eric Hite, undefeated wing eater.

Hite said he never feels the burn of the sauce until after he’s done because all he can think about is eating the wings fast.

Hite won $50 in cash and a $50 gift card to the bar.
