Waytashek is Summit Player of Week for 3rd time!

SDSU sophomore Megan Waytashek has collected her third Player of the Week honor of the year after scoring a career-high 33 points in a win at Kansas City. In the game, the sophomore forward was 11-of-17 (.647) from the field and 7-of-10 (.700) from three-point range. She also grabbed four rebounds and had two steals in the contest. Waytashek scored the final 11 points of the first half and the first 10 points of the second half to give her 21-straight points for the Jackrabbits. Her 33 points are the most scored for a SDSU player in the school’s Division I era and accounted for 53 percent of her team’s offensive production in the 62-61 win. In the win at South Dakota, she tallied 18 points with three rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal. For the week, Waytashek averaged 25.5 points 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals and one block per game. She shot 58 percent (18-of-31) from the field and 64 percent (9-of-14) from behind the arc.
