Powerball Ticket Sold, Winner Comes Forward

Bookmark and Share

A ticket sold in Spearfish is worth $10,000 in the latest Powerball drawing.

South Dakota lottery officials say the ticket matched four of five white balls and the Powerball in Wednesday's drawing to win the game's third prize. The odds of winning it are one in about 649,000.

Powerball is played in 42 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The jackpot sits at $40 million for the next drawing, on Saturday.

Jeff Gramm of Pierre on February 7, 2013 claimed his $6,001 prize from the February 2, 2013 Wild Card 2 drawing.

Gramm matched five of five white ball numbers but missed the Wild Card to win the game's second prize. He also matched one of five white ball numbers and the Wild Card on another play line of the same ticket for an additional $1. The odds of winning $6,000 playing Wild Card 2 are 1:126,579. Gramm purchased his winning ticket at the Pierre Lottery office/validation center at 711 East Wells Avenue.

Wild Card 2 is played only in Idaho, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota. The jackpot currently sits at $780,000 for the next drawing on Saturday, February 9, 2013.
