Black Hills State University and the Spearfish Area Chamber of Commerce are teaming open up a business incubator.
The Black Hills Virtual Business Incubation Program will be operated out of the chamber office.
BHSU Center for Business, Entrepreneurship and Tourism director Barbara Zwetzig says it is taking a "start small" approach for the rural community.
Membership is by application and contract and is available month to month. Fees include a range of services such as business coaching, networking events, use of a conference room and access to university faculty consultants and student interns.
Zwetzig has been working with entrepreneurs, startups and small businesses from the region since joining the university in 2008. Black Hills Vision awarded the seed money for the project.
