Dozens of artists celebrating the beauty of the plains met at the Holiday Inn in downtown Sioux Falls on Saturday.
26 local and regional artists have the opportunity to showcase their work in the 33rd annual Artists of the Plains Art Show and Sale. The show is sponsored by the Center for Western Studies at Augustana College and features artwork such as canvas paintings, sculptures and jewelry. Artists in attendance were all specifically selected through an application process.
“What we look for is basically somebody who embodies the Northern Plains because that's the mission of the Center For Western Studies,” said Kristi Thomas.
The art show and sale continues through Sunday afternoon and is free to the public.
