GREEN BAY, WI -- The Sioux Falls Storm (1-0) defeated the Green Bay Blizzard (0-1) last night in the Indoor Football League Kickoff Classic in Green Bay, WI by a score of 64-41.

The Storm offense, with plenty of new faces, hit the ground running... QB Martavious Young led all rushers with 101 yards and 1 TD, Tory Harrison had 42 yards on 11 carries and 2 TDs, Mike Tatum rushed for 18 yards on 2 carries and 2 TDs. Storm veteran James Terry also rushed the ball once, for 10 yards and a TD.

Martavious Young completed 11 out 20 passes for 154 yards, 3 TDs and 0 interceptions. James Terry led all receivers with 5 catches for 84 yards. Blake Wilson also caught 1 ball for a TD.

Of course, no offensive stat can be mentioned without including kudos to the veteran offensive line of Mynyia Smith, Charlie Sanders and Gerald Davis. Huge holes were opened for the Storm running game and there were no sacks.

The Storm defense was up to the task as well, led by returning veteran at the linebacker position, Tyler Knight with 13 tackles (11 solo) including 1 sack, holding the Green Bay rushing attack to 47 yards.  Newcomer Ross Cochran also accounted for a crucial sack and 2 solo tackles.

The Storm defensive backs also played well accounting for 28 total tackles and 2 interceptions with standout performances by Roy Polite and Patrick Wells.

The Storm take next week off and return to the turf in Grand Island, Nebraska against the Nebraska Danger on March 2nd. The Storm home opener looms in the distance on Sunday, March 17th.
