The 2012 financial results are in for the city of Sioux Falls and in one word, the Director of Finance, Tracy Turbak, said the year was “solid.”
In 2012, the unemployment rate continued to progressively get better in the city, there was a significant increase in building permits issued and both sales and entertainment tax have shown an increase.
Turbak said overall, the year was stable and strong.
"Certainly very solid economically. It was a solid year for our operations. A solid year for our capitol program, a lot was accomplished and certainly a solid year for our city utilities," said Turbak
The general fund for the city began with $43.4 Million and with revenues and expenditures; the ending available fund balance for the city was $45.2 Million.
