A big topic at the Sioux Falls City Council meeting Tuesday night showcased a master plan for the aquatic facilities.
The Parks and Recreation Department has brought in the firm, Counsilman-Hunsaker, to look at existing pools in place and to recommend future water facilities that could benefit the city.
Following the firm's research, a lot of the existing pools are reaching the end of their useful life.
"Even though we have a great outdoor aquatic system. Continuation of that outdoor aquatic system needs to be considered as part of this plan because those pools will not be around forever," said Kevin Post with Counsilman-Hunsaker.
Six options for different styles of future pools were presented to the council for review.
In March, there will be a meeting to get input from the public about this master plan.
