Snowfall Tapering Off In Eastern South Dakota

A winter storm that moved into eastern South Dakota is tapering off.
The National Weather Service says the Sioux Falls airport officailly accumulated 6.1 inches of snow through mid Friday morning, but as much as 7.5 inches were reported around other parts of Minnehaha and Lincoln counties.
A wide range of snow totals have been reported from across the area with as much as 11 inches from Emerson, Nebraska through the Sioux City area. Widespread amounts of 3 to 8 inches have been reported across much of the I-90 corridor from Worthington, Minnesota to Chamberlain.
Official totals from across the region will be posted later today.
