BROOKINGS, S.D. -- Frost Arena is the toughest venue in all of Division 1 men's college basketball.
While that is certainly up for debate, statistically speaking it's true. The Jacks 30-game homecourt win streak is now the longest stretch of homecourt dominance in Division 1.
The Jacks took over the top spot yesterday thanks to Syracuse' 57-46 home loss to Georgetown. Syracuse had won 38 consecutive home games.
SDSU last lost at Frost Arena on January 27, 2011. If they get their way, the streak will extend into the 2013-14 season. SDSU has no more scheduled home games this season and, if they win the Summit League Tournament, would not play another home game this season. If the Jacks fail to make the NCAA Tournament they could still play more home games in the other three postseason tournaments (NIT, CBI, CIT).
SDSU concludes the regular season on Thursday at UNO. If the Jacks win they will clinch the Summit League regular season title.
Marquette (23) now has the nation's second longest streak.
