Dakota Valley might as well stand for "Double Vision" on the wrestling mat.
"We're both equal in strength, speed, size. Great practice partner. You can't get much better than the defending heavyweight champion." Taylor Lambert says.
Identical twins Taylor and Tanner Lambert have been competing since birth.
"You know, once in a while you think they're gonna come to blows but they never do, they're just not that kinda kids. They might exchange a few words but that's about it." Dakota Valley Coach Kendall Hanson says.
"It's just I think we really push each other in practice." Tanner Lambert says.
And it's shown on the mat. Tanner won his second consecutive heavyweight state championship, and he had company....
....as Taylor took his first state title at 220 pounds.
"Best day of my life." Taylor says.
Though we'll never know which Lambert would win head-to-head on the mat, we may find out on the gridiron. Tanner will major in engineering and play football at State, and while Taylor pursues business and football at USD.
"It was kind of a shock to see them go seperate ways." Coach says.
"We're so competitive it was only a surprise to family and friends. We're looking forward to it." Tanner says.
When the Lamberts will do a little more than "push" each other. In Watertown, Zach Borg, KDLT Sports.
