Northern State Sweeps NSIC 1st Round Games

ABERDEEN, S.D. --  The Northern State basketball teams advanced to the NSIC Tournament Quarterfinals by sweeping home 1st round games on Wednesday night.

The NSU women beat Wayne State 69-59.  Sadie Stotesbery led the Wolves with 22 points.  Rachel Krogman added 20 and Megan Mutchler had 13.

In the men's game the Wolves rallied from down eight early to beat Sioux Falls 63-60.  Northern State was led by Collin Pryor's 21 points and got 18 more from Geoffrey Firmin.  Robert Goffrey had a game-high 23 for the Cougars.

The NSU men will host another Sioux Falls team, Augustana, on Saturday afternoon at 4 PM.

Northern's women will play at Minot State.  Tip time in Bismarck, North Dakota is slated for 6 PM.
