OMAHA, NE -- There will be life after Nate Wolters in 2013-14 for the South Dakota State men's basketball team, and Chad White figures to be the next leader.
White's career-high 23 points helped the Jacks finish off UNO 100-82 on Thursday night.
"When I recruited Chad I expected him to be an all-conference player. I just did. I don't think that will happen this year but when he's a senior next year we need him to be that. He's fully capable of it, he's a tremendous shooter. He showed what was capable of tonight." SDSU Head Coach Scott Nagy says.
In the Jacks' present, White's big night helped the team clinch it's first regular season conference title in the Division One era. It could end up being a shared Summit League crown depending on whether or not Western Illinois beats South Dakota in their regular season finale tomorrow.
However, because the Jacks swept the regular season series with WIU, SDSU clinches an automatic bid to the NIT and the top seed at the Summit League Tournament in Sioux Falls.
SDSU will open the tournament against IUPUI a week from Saturday at the Sioux Falls Arena at 6 PM. The Jackrabbit women, who also won the regular season Summit crown, kick off the tournament earlier in the day at noon against Oakland.
All matchups and the complete bracket will be released following the final league games on Saturday.
