USD's Gruis Summit Co-Player Of The Week

VERMILLION, S.D.—University of South Dakota junior center Trevor Gruis has been named Summit League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the period ended March 3.


Gruis averaged 7.5 rebounds and 22.5 points on 72 percent shooting (16 of 22) in two games last week. He scored a season-high 26 points in South Dakota’s 87-69 win against IUPUI Thursday. Gruis followed that with a 19-point, nine-rebound performance against Western Illinois Saturday.


Gruis is South Dakota’s leading rebounder (5.9 rpg) and second-leading scorer (12.3 ppg) this season. He enters Saturday’s Summit League Tournament game against Western 11 points shy of 1,000 in three seasons at USD.
