The owners of the Sioux Falls Stampede are donating $100,000 to help build the Scheel’s Ice Complex in Sioux Falls.
The donation was announced Wednesday by Joe Zueger, the president of the Ice Sports Association. But the donation by the Stampede comes with a twist.
If the local business community matches the donation, the Stampede ownership will make a second $100,000 donation.
The campaign is called the “$100K Hat Trick”.
The Stampede’s Gary Weckwerth says it makes sense for them to support the project.
The $8 million Scheel’s Ice Plex will be built at the Sanford Sports Complex.
Scheel’s donated $750,000 to secure the naming rights.
