Avera Opening Payment Center In Mitchell

The Sioux Falls-based Avera health network is opening a payment center in Mitchell.
Avera will lease half of the former Verifications Inc. building. That human resources company shut down last fall, putting 79 people out of work.
The Avera payment center will create about 15 jobs with the potential for up to 50 in three years. Local economic development official Bryan Hisel says the center will be a great replacement for office jobs lost when Verifications left.
