Names Released In Fatal Lyon Co. Crash

Two people are dead after a crash in front of Grand Falls Casino in Lyon County.

The accident happened just before 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Charles Rice and Kristin Loudermilk, both from Sioux Falls, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Rice was driving a Yukon on Highway 9 when he tried to turn left into the casino. Rice turned in front of a semi truck. The driver of the semi couldn't stop in time and broadsided the Yukon.

Both vehicles ended up in the east ditch in front of Grand Falls Casino.

The driver of the semi, Randy Gergen, was not injured in the accident.
