The Sioux Falls Police Department is calling the saturation patrol they conducted over the weekend for the St. Patrick's Day Holiday a success.
Lieutenant Jerome Miller says they had 16 extra officers out patrolling the streets.
He says officers arrested 17 people for DWI, and pulled over 18 people for speeding.
Altogether, they handed out a total of 145 citations.
Miller says that's on par with last year's numbers in which they arrested 20 people for DWI. However, they did write 102 more tickets last year than this year.
