Jackrabbits Ready For Wolverines

Bookmark and Share

The Jackrabbits are tipping off against the U. of Michigan at the Palace in Auburn Hills. It's the second straight year they have made the NCAA Tournament and second straight year they face a big name, big time team. Michigan presents some problems, but they're excited about the opportunity.

"I am sometimes amazed when the starting lineups are announced and we're rolling three South Dakota guys out there, but this special to them. It's their home state school and it means a lot to them, and we get a lot out of local guys because it just tends to mean a little bit more," said SDSU head coach Scott Nagy.

"We're just greatful to be here. They're a great team, and the chance to play a great team is why when I was little I wanted to play basketball play this kind of team and come to this tournament," said SDSU guard Chad White.

"They're a really good team, and they know how to get wins so we still have to do what we need to do ," said Michigan guard Trey Burke.

"They're like an amoeba with their offense. They can do so many different things that you can't really organize for. And with their point guard, he just finds people that are open," said Michigan head coach John Beilein.

"Offensively, they're really good, got a lot of great players in Burke and Hardaway, and those guys, so they'll be really tough to stop, and we just have to make them take tough, contested jump shots," said SDSU guard Nate Wolters.

Michigan is a team that certainly presents some problems. Trey Burke is one of the best players in the country and a first team All-American. But the Jackrabbits also have Nate Wolters, who has garnered an awful lot of national attention.
