Big Name Duo Leads Brookings Rangers

Bookmark and Share

One guy's tall with a short name, and the other's short with a tall name.

"Theodosopoulos."  T.J. Says

"No one seems to get his name right ever."  Matt Eng says.

But together the Brookings Rangers' unlikely duo of Matt Eng and TJ Theodosopoulos have been unstoppable.

"We've played on a line since we first started playing on a team together so we know where each other is going to be at all times.  And we just have a good bond out there."  Eng says.

That's because their chemistry hasn't developed overnight, it's developed over the years.

"Playing together for 14 years, our whole lives, we've known each other, playing on the same lines, hanging out, just being really close."  Theodosopoulos says.

"Matt Eng, I mean, he's become a skill player but he's fast and he's a hard hitter and plays the body.  And T.J. has got a great vision and he hustles."  Coach Noelle Needham says.

And that chemistry made Brookings great, helping lead the Rangers to their first state title in eight years.

"It's a dream come true to win it with my best friend and my other best friend Zach VanLiere who's our other linemate, so it's just a dream come true."  Theodosopoulos says.

Together, one last time, as champions.
