A Mitchell woman is in jail after a series of suspicious bank deposit entries led authorities to discover embezzled funds.
47-year-old Shannon Danell Foster was arrested on one count of grand theft. The Mitchell Police Department received information that Foster, who was a book keeper for the James Valley Community Center, had made suspicious bank deposit entries for more than one James Valley Community Center account.
Foster admitted to embezzling approximately $3,000 in cash from January to March of 2013.
A search warrant of Foster's home and business, The Moonlight Bar, was executed leading to her arrest.
Foster faces up to 10 years in the South Dakota State Penitentiary and a $20,000 fine.
