A radiothon striving to cure kids cancer kicked off Thursday at the Sanford Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Seven radio stations in the Sioux Empire are joining forces to raise awareness and funds for cancer research, along with telling individual kid’s current cancer and survivor stories.
For one mother, whose daughter Ana recently reached her year mark in remission, the radiothon signifies hope and unified support from the community.
“Every dollar, no matter what it is can go towards helping something, somebody. It can go towards comforting a child, giving them a brighter day," said Jenna Mohlenhoff.
The event continues from six a.m. to six p.m. Friday with the goal to raise more money than last year, which was just over $291,000.00.
