USD Sweeps Doubleheader From SDSU

VERMILLION, S.D. --  The Coyote softball team swept a doubleheader with in-state rival SDSU in thrilling fashion.

USD won the opening game of the Vermillion doubleheader 7-6 thanks to a walkoff single from Allie Daly.  Katie Cochran (USD) and Allison Huffman (SDSU) belted homeruns.

In game two the Coyotes built a 13-2 lead after three innings, only to see SDSU mount a furious rally that fell one run short in a 16-15 loss.  Daly hit two homeruns for USD.  Lindsey Boyd (USD), Alex Landon (SDSU) and Marlee Petersen (SDSU) also added longballs.

The two teams wrap up the series tomorrow in a single game tomorrow at noon in Vermillion.
