Mitchell's 49 Spoil Skyforce Arena Finale

Bookmark and Share

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. --  The Fort Wayne Mad Ants may have done enough to make sure the Sioux Falls Skyforce regular season home finale was their final game ever at the Sioux Falls Arena.

Down one at half, Fort Wayne rallied to defeat the Skyforce 125-112 thanks to 49 points from Tony Mitchell.

Sioux Falls potentially saw their time in the Arena, along with their season, come to an end.  With the defeat Sioux Falls fell out of the 8th and final playoff spot in the NBA D-League.  The Skyforce will need a win tomorrow at Iowa in their regular season finale plus a Maine loss at Erie.

If Sioux Falls fails to make the playoffs this marked the final home game at the Arena in franchise history.  The Skyforce will move into the brand new Sanford Pentagon next season.  The Force have played in the Arena since 1989.

James Mays led the Skyforce with 24 points.
