Update: Estimated 21,500 Still Without Power

Bookmark and Share

Plenty of people are still without power in the Sioux Falls area.

The latest numbers from Xcel Energy estimate that power is still out for 21,500 customers. Xcel has restored power to 44,000 customers so far.

230 workers from Xcel and other contractors are working around the clock to turn the electricity back on.  Other crews are being brought in to help.

The vast majority of power is expected to be restored by Thursday night.
The power company expects more outages.

If you need to report outages do not call 911 as it ties up communications.  Xcel Energy asks you to call 1-800-895-4999 to report outages.
