Stir-Crazy Families Head To Sioux Falls Mall

Bookmark and Share

With school cancelled for the second day for many students in southeastern South Dakota, the Empire Mall in Sioux Falls has become a popular spot for families.

Chastity Reimer and her 6-year-old daughter Shila Erickson headed from their home near Renner to the mall Thursday morning because they have been without power since Tuesday morning.

She says she and her daughter have been playing a lot of board games to keep busy and decided to spend a few hours at the mall "killing time."

Nine-year-old Nate Kirkpatrick says he doesn't like having a second snow day and wants to be back in school.

He says he may build a snowman and go sledding, but he doesn't like the cold weather.
