VERMILLION, S.D. & SIOUX CITY, IA --  The recent winter blast in the upper midwest forced the Sioux City Relays to split up.

The pole vault was moved to the Dakota Dome in Vermillion.  Madison Mills & Emily Grove starred for South Dakota.

Despite near freezing temperatures there were running events in Sioux City.  In the women's 10,000 Meter Run Mount Marty's Katie Smelker took the title in 39:22.  On the men's side Dakota State's Nic Penning, a runner up last year, won the championship this year in 32:38.
