Bookmark and Share

BISMARCK, N.D. --  A rough second period cost the Brookings Blizzard a chance to win their playoff opener.

The Bismarck Bobcats scored six unanswered goals, three in the second, en route to an 8-3 win over Brookings in Game 1 of the NAHL playoffs.

After trailing 1-0 early the Blizzard tied the game on an incredible effort from Thomas Williams, who scored as he was being taken down to tie the game.  Bismarck regained the lead with just 15 seconds left in the first on an Evan Giesler goal.

Patrick Moore scored 45 seconds into the third period to make it 3-1.  Seth Blair scored the first of his three goals at the 15:39 mark followed 21 seconds later by another Moore goal.  Blair scored twice in the third before Eetu Karvinen and Williams finally tallied for Brookings.

Game 2 of the series is tomorrow night in Bismarck at 7:05 PM.
