Herbster Eager To Begin Facility Upgrades At USD

Bookmark and Share

VERMILLION, S.D. --  Though David Herbster now holds the "official" title, there's really nothing "new" about the University of South Dakota's 13th athletic director.

Herbster was given the job full time Friday after serving as interim athletic director since December 2012.

He's been at USD since 2007, helping oversee the Coyotes division one transition and moves into the Summit League and Missouri Valley Football Conference.

Herbster's promotion should provide more stability and help the program move closer to completing facility upgrades like a new basketball and volleyball arena.

"Putting a plan together from an athletic facility master plan is one thing. Having a nice shiny dossier to show people what you're looking at is kind of that second step. What we will do here is put a shovel in the dirt this fall. You know it's going to take a lot of hard work. It's gonna take a lot of people stepping up to make this thing happen." Herbster says.
