Another Round of April Snow Showers

Bookmark and Share

Sunday morning began on a wet note for portions of the area, but a little bit warmer considering we’ve been running well below average now for several days now. In fact, temperatures were closer to normal than they have been for quite some time. Unfortunately, the warm temperatures didn’t last long because a cold front passed through the region around sunset sending temperatures back into the 30s and even 20s once again. Here’s a look at our high temperatures along with how much rain we’ve picked up on Sunday.

More moisture is in the forecast for our region as we go into the first part of the week, but with colder temperatures in place; it’s coming in the form of snowfall once again. Unfortunately, it seems like we just can’t shake this winter weather. However, the good news is that this looks to be one of the last shots of snow that we have—at least in the next 7 days.

With surface temperatures above freezing in some locations, our Futurecast Snowfall could be overdoing our snowfall totals; but there is potential for some accumulation depending on snowfall rates. Visibilities could be rather low with some of the snow being heavy at times once it has changed over to rain. It looks like the heaviest will be during the Monday morning hours, then gradually tapering off through the late afternoon hours. Here’s a look at our Futurecast Snowfall and Winter Weather Advisories across parts of the west, which are in effect through Monday at 7 P.M.

Once the snow has tapered off, it does look like temperatures will struggle to rebound at first. Another shot of cooler air will pass through Wednesday giving some locations a chance of some rain, but for the most part; temperatures do look like they will gradually rebound as we go into the latter parts of the week and into the weekend.

As always, stay tuned to KDLT and KDLT.com for the very latest.
