A Sioux Falls home sits charred after it was destroyed by a late night fire.
Firefighters were called to the home on the 400 block of West 16th Street around 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
Officials say when fire crews arrived smoke and flames were pouring out of the backside of the home. But crews couldn't begin to fight the blaze on that side of the house because of live electrical wires attached to it.
Officials say the fire quickly spread throughout the entire home.
"We were able to get crews into the front of the structure in an attempt to attack the fire from the front side," Sioux Falls Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Steve Fessler said.
Officials say eight people lived in the home and all escaped without injury. The home is a complete loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
