IPFW Jumps Past Jacks In Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. --  The SDSU softball team never got to play a home series in Brookings during the 2013 season.  And their final "homestand" in Sioux Falls got off to a rough start.

Playing at Sherman Park in Sioux Falls, the Jackrabbits were swept by IPFW in a Saturday doubleheader, falling 3-0 and 4-3.

SDSU falls to 14-29 overall and 4-16 in Summit League play.  IPFW is 26-12, 9-3 in the Summit.

In the first game IPFW's Miranda Kramer shut down the Jacks.  She pitched a complete game three-hitter, struck out nine and improved to 18-6.

In game two Krista Honken hit a three-run triple in the third to put SDSU out front 3-0, only to see the Mastodons answer with four runs in the fourth.

The two teams wrap up the weekend series with a single game tomorrow at noon.
