Stampede Rally At Fargo To Even Series

Bookmark and Share

FARGO, N.D. --  The Sioux Falls Stampede should have been playing Games 1 and 2 of the Western Conference Finals against Fargo at home.  Instead they'll look to close the Force out in the Arena.

The Stampede scored twice in the third period to cap a stunning 2-1 victory in Game 2 of the USHL Western Conference Finals, evening the series at 1-1 as the series heads to Sioux Falls for the final three games.

Fargo carried the momentum of their 3-2 Game 1 win on Friday night over in the first period, taking a 1-0 lead on Jordan Nelson's one-timer at 11:31.

The Stampede tied the game early in the third on a Thomas Forgione goal.  The Herd took their first lead of the game and series at 10:48 when C.J. Franklin batted in a loose puck.  Charlie Lindgren made it stand, stopping 33 shots.

Game 3 will be on Thursday night at the Sioux Falls Arena.
