Ostrander Likes Augies Chances at Regionals

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Augustana shot a 327 in today’s second round of the NCAA Central Region Championships and is now in second place at 68-over-par 644. Central Oklahoma moved into the top spot firing a 318 this afternoon and holds a three stroke lead over the Vikings at 65-over-par 641.
Marisa Toivonen was tied for fifth heading into today’s round before she fired a three-over-par 75 to move up to a tie for first place. Toivonen now sits at 10-over-par 154 after two rounds of play. The freshman had a strong back-nine this afternoon, hitting par on eight of the final nine holes to finish the day three-over.
Allie Ostrander, who led all individuals after the first round, dropped to sixth after shooting a 12-over-par 84 today. Ostrander finished the first round with a two-over-par 74 and now sits in sixth place at 14-over-par 158 heading into tomorrow’s final round.
Emily Kvidera dropped 10 spots on the individual leaderboard and is now tied for 19th at 21-over-par 165 after firing a 13-over-par 85 on Monday. Jennifer Pederson moved down four spots and is tied for 26th at 23-over-par 167. Pederson shot one stroke better today, finishing with an 11-over-par 83.
Maggie Leland shot an 85 for the second straight round and sits in a tie for 33rd overall at 26-over-par 170.
The third and final round of the NCAA Central Region Championships will get underway tomorrow morning at St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Mo.
