An Iowa lawyer and former police officer lost his law license after being convicted of drug and forgery charges.
The Iowa Supreme Court revoked 41-year-old Brian Loren Stowe's law license after reviewing his case.
In 2010, Stowe was convicted of possessing methamphetamine and forging two $200 checks on the accounts of a client and a housemate. The money from those checks was deposited in Stowe's account.
Supreme Court Justice David Wiggins says theft by lawyers won't be tolerated.
Stowe, who used to live in Waverly, worked as a police officer in Nevada before graduating from Drake law school in 2000.
