SDSU's Hansen Leaving To Take Job In CO

Bookmark and Share

South Dakota State University assistant men's basketball coach Austin Hansen has resigned his position.

Hansen is leaving the Jackrabbits after five years to take an assistant coaching position at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo.

Hansen graduated from SDSU in 2003 and joined the Jackrabbits as an assistant coach in 2008. He was an assistant at Minnesota State, Mankato, before that. During his five years at SDSU, Hansen helped lead the team to back-to-back NCCA Tournament appearances in 2012 and 2013.

Hansen says he's grateful to have coached such hardworking players and wishes SDSU basketball success.

SDSU plans to begin an immediate national search for Hansen's replacement.
