It's easy to miss C.J. Franklin.
"I'd kinda say I'm the quiet little guy. Kinda the quiet guy who talks some times, I don't know!" Franklin says.
Which is just the way he likes it.
"He lets his play do his talking for him. Does not say a lot, you know, just goes out and works hard, brings his lunch bucket to work and gets rewarded because of it." Head Coach Cary Eades says.
Franklin's stats speak for themself. In his first year with the Stampede, Franklin was a complete player, leading the team with 32 goals, second in points with 60.
And never afraid to drop the gloves when needed.
"I expected, you know, just to make the first three lines and just be a help on the team any way that I could and, you know, it's been a pleasant surprise working my way up. You know it's been great. You know the fans, it's a lot different from high school, there's a lot more out here. They just cheer really loud." Franklin says.
"He's been a big role on our team. It's nice to have another guy like him show up and, you know, be able to produce constantly or, you know, most of the nights." Stampede Forward Zeb Knutson says.
And after falling one win short of the Clark Cup Finals, Franklin's looking for bigger things next year.
"Now you just got to set new expectations and keep going from there." Franklin says.
If he reaches those goals we can't say we didn't see it coming. In Sioux Falls, Zach Borg, KDLT Sports.
