A McLaughlin man accused of driving drunk and causing a fatal crash has been sentenced to 1 ½ years in prison for manslaughter.
Thirty-three-year-old Jody Red Bird also was ordered to spend three years on supervised release following his prison term and to pay more than $6,200 in restitution.
U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says Red Bird was driving a vehicle that crashed and rolled between Timber Lake and McLaughlin last June, killing a passenger.
