Birds Bats Silent in Home Opener

The Canaries opened their home season before over 3,500 fans, but they forgot to bring their hitting shoes. The Birds got solid pitching for starting pitcher Jordan Whatcott who gave up no earned runs. The Canaries had 5 errors. But the Canaries managed only 2 base hits in the 3-0 loss. the same two teams play Saturday and Sunday at SF Stadium. The X's have won the first 2 games of the season against the Canaries.
