Watertown Captures State Tennis Title

Bookmark and Share

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. --  The Watertown Arrows quest for their first boy's state tennis championship in nearly 20 years literally came down to the last match.

Jordan Feige and Tanner Heiser defeated O'Gorman's Tommy Entwistle and Ben Czarnecki 6-4, 6-4 in the #1 Doubles Championship, in the process securing Watertown's first team championship since 1994.

That loss coupled with Rapid City Stevens' win in the #3 doubles ended up pushing O'Gorman back to third place.  It's the first time since 2002 that the Knights have failed to finish in the top two at state.
