The Hamlin County Sheriff's Office says the driver of a car received some minor injuries after colliding with a tree on a highway.
They say the crash happened Sunday morning at around 2 a.m. on South Dakota Highway 28 about three miles east of Bryant, South Dakota. According to the Sheriff's Office strong winds from a thunderstorm caused a tree to blow down blocking the highway. The vehicle, heading east, collided with the tree causing damage to the front end of the vehicle.
The driver received some minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital.
The Hamlin County Sheriff's Office and the Bryant Fire Department were dispatched to the scene. The road was closed for about an hour until the tree could be removed.
