Give A Pint And Save A Life

Bookmark and Share

It's one of the simplest things you can do to save a life and all it takes is about 20 minutes and a little stick.

Ken Versteeg, with the Community Blood Bank of Sioux Falls, joined KDLT News Today Anchor Phil McIlrath this morning to tell us more about how we can save a life and get a sweet reward.

Friday, May 24th, the Community Blood Bank will be at Scheels All Sport in Sioux Falls taking donations for their "Pint For A Pint" promotion. The event will be from 11:00 am to  3:00 pm.

Friday, if you show up and donate a pint of blood, you will get a gift certificate for a pint of Dairy Queen ice cream, and a T-Shirt.

The event is in its 2nd year and has grown tremendously. Last May, the event grew from a 20 unit drive to 49, which helped 147 patients and their families.

The Community blood bank needs 550 units of blood every week to meet the demands of the area.
