SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Two weeks after scoring just 18 points against Cedar Rapids, the Sioux Falls Storm turned the tables on the Titans in their rematch at the Arena.
The Storm won a defensive struggle 30-24 on Saturday night, taking over first place in the United Conference and improving to 8-4.
After trading touchdowns on their opening possessions, the Storm defense tightened and, after a pair of Parker Douglass field goals, took a 13-7 lead at the half.
Marteavious Young scored his second rushing touchdown of the game on the opening drive of the third quarter to put Sioux Falls up 20-7.
The Titans took advantage of several Storm turnovers, scoring 14 unanswered points and taking a 21-20 lead midway through the fourth. The Storm got their third field goal from Douglass and forced a Cedar Rapids fumble on the ensuing possession that was returned five yards for a touchdown by Tyler Knight.
