All In The DeHaven Family

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. --  Imagine winning a state track championship, only to go home and have your old man bragging that he could still beat you!

That's what Addison DeHaven had to put up with yesterday.

The Brookings' senior was named MVP of the AA State meet after capturing the 1600 and 3200 meter runs  and anchoring two medley relay championships.

Addison's father is former olympian Rod DeHaven who, in 1984, set the state record for the fastest 1600 meter run.  Addison fell seven seconds short of his father's record.

"Obviously I look to break his records but I try to be, like, my own person and not really try and follow exactly in his shadow."  Addison says.
